Central Quay is a high-quality workplace in one of Dublin’s most established commercial locations, designed to support the continued growth of our confidential financial services client’s European presence.

Located on Sir John Rogerson’s Quay in the Dublin Docklands, the project was shaped by a clear need: to deliver a contemporary, efficient and secure workplace, ready for occupation within a tight programme and aligned with our client’s operational and workplace standards.

Growth, continuity and readiness

Our client required a new workplace at Central Quay to support its continued growth in Dublin. The firm already occupied space within the building, so the project was not about creating a workplace from scratch, but extending and refining an existing presence.

The brief focused on delivering a professional, high-performing environment that could be occupied immediately. It needed to work for the local team from day one, while also reflecting the quality, consistency and operational standards expected across our client’s wider workplace portfolio.

Security, technology and ease of occupation were central to the project. Area worked closely with internal IT, AV and security teams, as well as their external consultants, to coordinate the technical requirements of the space and support a smooth transition into the new floor.

Our approach

The design approach built on the character of the firm’s existing Dublin workplace, evolving the look and feel while bringing the new space more closely in line with its other offices.

Rather than introducing a highly branded or statement-led interior, the design was calm, practical and refined. A muted, natural palette was used throughout, combining soft greys, timber tones and subtle colour accents to create a workplace that feels professional, focused and easy to use.

Area retained a number of existing features, including the breakout area and flooring, while also reusing selected furniture already on site. This included desks, storage, meeting room furniture and other workplace items where they could be successfully integrated into the new scheme.

Security, coordination and delivery

Given the nature of our client’s business, security was a major focus throughout the project. The workplace needed to support strict operational requirements while remaining functional and straightforward for the people using it.

Working alongside G&T as project and cost consultant, Area helped bring together the different workstreams needed to deliver the space, balancing technical detail with the wider design and construction programme.

The project reflects the value of considered workplace delivery: creating a space that looks professional, works from day one and gives a growing team the right platform for the future.
