When Citrix moved to larger premises in Paris, its “better by design” culture as well as the setting of the city’s business district formed the inspiration for the interior design of their office. The goal was to improve communication and foster a sense of community amongst staff.

The new office space playfully simulates the heart of a village, complete with its familiar landmarks. This enhances collaboration due to the various carefully designed open-plan workspaces, hot-desking and drop-in areas. The main office feature is the Central Briefing Centre, which is used for product demonstrations. Area’s sister company, Sketch Studios, supplied innovative seating arrangements including Herman Miller furniture, bespoke joinery and flexible mobile seating.
At the heart of the village centre concept lies a serious idea. The rural ‘landmarks’ in the new workplace, such as the village hall, bus stop or library all help maximise the available office space while also making staff feel part of a bigger team. The vision was the result of extensive consultations with Citrix team members in multiple European countries throughout the design and fit-out process.
